Bangkok Insurance received this award at the 26th Le Fonti - IAIR Insurance Awards® event held by the IAIR (International Alternative Investment Review) magazine for its continuous development efforts to achieve excellence in all aspects through its world-class management system and its principles to provide services with honesty and fair treatment towards customers over the past 70 days of operations. In the previous year, the Company was granted the Excellence in Insurance Thailand award from the same event. The Company was the only non-life insurer in Thailand to receive the awards from the said institution for 5 consecutive years from 2013 – 2017.
Best Insurance Solutions Advisory Team - Thailand 2016
Bangkok Insurance received this award from the Insurance Awards 2016 event held by the CFI.co (Capital Finance International) magazine, a famous European magazine in business, economics, and finance. The awards have been given to outstanding financial organizations with global reputation such as financial institutions, banks, securities companies, and insurance companies. The Company was the first and only non-life insurer in Thailand to receive the awards for 2 consecutive years for its ability to maintain work process according to standards and with efficiency as well as its continued efforts to develop management system to ensure quality leading to its stability, creditability, and excellent capabilities in all aspects. Furthermore, as a non-life insurer, the Company had always put customers at the heart of its services.
Best Application Innovation
Bangkok Insurance received this award from the ICT Best Practice Awards 2015 event jointly held by CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, Assumption University, and the eLeader magazine, for its development of BKI Telematics for use with motor insurance to promote good driving behaviors and road safety.
CIO of the Year 2015
Dr. Apisit Anantanatarat, President, received the CIO of the Year 2015 awardfrom the ICT Best Practice Awards 2015 event held by CAT Telecom Public Company Limited in collaboration with the Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI), Assumption University, and the eLeader magazine, for being a leader in applying technology innovation to the development of work systems for enhanced operational efficiency, capabilities, and service quality for maximum customer satisfaction.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Mr. Chai Sophonpanich, Chairman of the Board of Directors, received the Lifetime Achievement Award
from the 19th Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2015 event held by the Asia Insurance Review magazine widely recognized for its expertise in insurance information in Asia and at the global level. The award was to recognize Mr. Chai Sophonpanich for his contribution to the insurance industry in Thailand and the ASEAN community, his ability to manage the business of Bangkok Insurance to achieve stable growth and a strong financial position, and his long-term support for corporate social responsibility activities.
Outstanding Consumer Complaint and Resolution Center 2015
The award was presented to the Company by the Office of the Consumer Protection Board for its ability to handle complaints and provide resolutions for the consumers efficiently by providing standardized services to the customers as well as evaluating, analyzing, and improving the services consistently according to the ISO criteria.

Bangkok Insurance won this award at the Insurance Awards 2015 event hosted by the CFI.co (Capital Finance International) magazine. The Company was the first and only non-life insurer in Thailand to receive such a prestigious award. BKI was recognized as a Thai leading non-life insurance organization with fast and continuous development in various aspects. Also, it was known for having efficient and universal work processes by investing in analysis and risk management systems to enable quick adjustment to changing circumstances. Also, it had utilized the customer-centric approach in doing business by providing services according to customer needs to maximize customer satisfaction.
Non-life Insurance Company with the Most Outstanding Management Award for 3 consecutive years, twice: Bangkok Insurance won the awards in 2002, 2003, and 2004 as well as 2009, 2010, and 2011.
The award event was hosted by the Office of Insurance Commission.
Top Corporate Governance Report Awards
Bangkok Insurance won the awards in 2011 and 2012 from the SET Awards event hosted by the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Banking & Finance magazine. The awards were given to listed companies with outstanding corporate governance reports. BKI was ranked among the top 10 best performers.
Outstanding Workplace Award in the Category of Labour Skill Development Promotion 2012
The award was presented by the Department of Skill Development, the Ministry of Labour at the "National Standard Skills Day" event. The winners were organizations with personnel trainings and development to promote their people’s proper knowledge, skills, and attitudes about work.
Corporate Social Responsibility Award
Bangkok Insurance won this award at the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2008 event arranged by the Asia Insurance Review magazine. The Company was the first Thai non-life insurer to receive such an award for its adherence to the principles of good corporate governance and social responsibility as well as its commitment to support all aspects of social contribution activities and to emphasize sustainable and measurable social development. There were more than 50 companies from 15 countries in Asia applying for the awards.
Outstanding Disability Employer Award 2005
Bangkok Insurance received this award from the Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups, Social Development and Human Security Ministry. The Company received such an award twice, the first time being in 2003. The award was to recognize the Company for focusing on the importance and capabilities of people with disabilities and hiring people with visual and hearing impairment since 1974.
Disclosure Report Award 2003
The award was granted by the Office of Securities and Exchange Commission for companies with quality of work in terms of disclosure of information in annual registration statements (56-1forms) and financial statements for 2002 with conciseness, clarity, compliance with rules, regulations, and accounting standards, and user-friendliness for investors and data users for their informed decision making in an efficient manner.
Outstanding Disability Employer Award 2003
The Committee on Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons and the Social Development and Human Security Ministry granted this award to the Company for its appreciation of values of persons with disabilities who might have physical and mental limitations but, in terms of work, could perform well with high commitment. Recognizing their potential, the Company had been giving persons with disabilities the opportunity to work by hiring them to work since 1974. The Company had treated them with fairness and equality similar to other employees by providing them with welfare, knowledge, and proper equipment to facilitate and enhance their capabilities.
General Insurance Company of the Year 1997
The Company was granted the award by the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 1997 event in Singapore as a non-life insurer with integrity and fairness, providing services and managing operations according to universal standards, developing new products with efficiency, achieving business success, earning trust from local and international customers for more than half a century, and always having strong commitment to support society.
Personality of the Year
Mr. Chai Sophonpanich, Chairman of the Board of Directors, received the "Personality of the Year" award from the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 1997 event for his ability to manage business professionally and as a key figure in the insurance industry of Asia. He assumed the positions of the President of East Asia Insurance; the President of Asian Insurance Council; and the President of the Thai General Insurance Association for 3 office terms. In addition, he had contributed significantly to society and the country through the preservation of Buddhism and arts and cultures; the promotion of education for disadvantaged children in remote areas; and the life-long commitment to support social building activities.
Management Awards 1991
The Company won the "Management Awards" 1991 in the category of "General Management" by the Asian Institute of Management among more than 3,600 leading companies throughout the Asian region. This was a result of its outstanding business undertakings and development as a Thai leading non-life insurer with the continued growth in terms of premiums every year and world-class information technologies and work systems.
